With just a week to go for polling to begin, parties have intensified their campaign and are visiting people seeking votes for their respective parties in the upcoming election. Dr. R Mahendran who has been meeting people in the city in a door-to-door campaign from day one of his campaign, campaigned today at Gandhi Park, P N Pudur, Vadavalli and Veera Keralam regions.



During his campaign at Veera Keralam where agriculture is the major livelihood, Mahendran highlighted that the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for coconut, copra and other perishable goods will be increased by a minimum of 20 percent of existing rates, and all agricultural land will be brought under the crop insurance scheme. He also explained to people about MNM's scheme to ensure a "Hut-Free Tamil Nadu" which will witness a change in Coimbatore where there will be no huts by 2024 and every family in Coimbatore will have access to affordable housing facilities.



Dr. Mahendran further interacted with the people in the locality and promised them to provide all basic facilities. "The other major problem in the city is 'Drinking water' facility and it will be fully solved with provision for 24/7 water supply to all households by 2022," he added.
